Designed to introduce Italians and foreigners alike to the basics of traditional Florentine cuisine, the “Terre Fiorenti” event will feature typical Tuscan food products including wine, olive oil, bread, and pecorino cheese (made from both pasteurized and unpasteurized sheep’s milk). The festival will also showcase roasted chestnuts and various chestnut confections from Marradi, a small town in the mountains north of Florence known for this delicacy. There will be free samples of the food products for sale, as well as the opportunity to meet the producers. In addition, a section of “Terre Fiorenti” will also display the work of local craftsmen, which will be for sale. (isabella grezzi)
