The Beauty and Flavors of Fall at the 2025 ‘Autumnia’ Festival

November 7 – 9, 2025. AUTUMNIA FALL FESTIVAL. Figline and Incisa Valdarno. Open 3 to 10 pm on Friday, 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 8 pm on Sunday. Admission free of charge. On Saturday from 3 to 9:15 pm and on Sunday from 2 to 8 pm the festival will provide free shuttle bus service for the guests. As the autumn season reveals itself through vibrant colors, captivating sights, and cozy warmth, the traditions of Tuscany comes alive with at a festival that captures the true spirit of the season. Experience all aspects of nature’s fall beauty at Autumnia, which will be held in the historic center of Figline and Incisa Valdarno, with certain events held in multiple venues ranging from the Palazzo Pretorio, the Piazza Ficino, the historic Garibaldi Theater, among others.

There will be something for everyone during the long weekend: local culinary specialties, guided tours, artisan stands, music, and more.  Autumnia will provide good quality cuisine and ingredients in addition to a focus on healthy eating at the event.  Guests can see craftspeople at work in the Piazzale della Misericordia, and are invited to try their hand at basketweaving. All ages are invited to visit the area dedicated to animals, ranging from sheep, goats, pigs and donkeys to horses, ducks, geese and rabbits, and there will be falconry demonstrations. “From Bees to Honey” and “From Milk to Cheese” are two of the free workshops open to all.  Kids are invited to be a fireman for day in Corso Vittorio Veneto on Saturday and Sunday.

At the heart of the event is Piazza Marsilio Ficino, one of the most beautiful squares in Tuscany, which will host sections dedicated to food products, including chestnuts, porcini mushrooms, extra virgin olive oil, local wines (including tastings), and more. There will be a delicacy for almost any kind of palate. Cooking shows will feature chefs, sommeliers, and kitchen professionals. Covered stands and tables will be open to visitors for lunch, dinner, and even snacks, an opportunity to discover and try new dishes with locally-sourced ingredients. Guests can talk to restaurateurs and farmers to learn about new recipes.

On Friday, November 7, Autumnia kicks off with a Tree Festival (10 am), during which schoolchildren, supervised by technicians, will plant cypress trees in via del Palagetto, followed by the inauguration of the festival’s stands displaying and selling local products that will remain open throughout the weekend.  One of several cooking shows will also take place on Friday, focusing on the preparation of traditional Tuscan peasant cuisine (4 pm, reservation necessary)

On Saturday, November 8, bring a fun-filled treasure hunt through the historic center of Figline and a guided tour exploring the Garibaldi Theater (11, 2 and 5 pm), which was inaugurated in 1871.  Later in the day, enjoy a talk on tips on keeping dogs as pets in urban settings (Padiglione Incontri, 5 pm) and end the evening at the concert provided by the band of the Volunteer Military Corps of the Italian Red Cross and the Schumann School of Music in the Misericordia Park.

On Sunday, November 9, visitors will have the unique opportunity to take part in a Civil Protection Exercise featuring skilled canine units in action (4 pm), an experience both important and educational. The weekend concludes in style with a stage performance (4, 5:30 and 7 pm) of “Noah’s Umbrella to… Figline,” at the Garibaldi Theater in piazza Serristori.

Each day of the weekend, the festival will have cooking shows, exhibits, artisan stands, games, fitness activities, crafts, a petting zoo, and much more.
