The Val di Rose, a swimming pool facility located inside the University of Florence campus in Sesto Fiorentino, will start operating and be open to the general public starting August 6.
The pool facility has been the subject of thorough restoration and extraordinary maintenance such as the re-commissioning of all systems (electrical, water, water recirculation, and treatment, heating) and the repainting of the premises since last spring. The university plans to keep it open for everybody all year round.
The facility has two pools with the physical properties of 25 meters long by 12.50 meters wide and 8 meters long by 12.50 meters wide. The size of the pools is spacious enough for larger groups. In addition, the facility includes changing rooms, showers, and rest rooms.
The pools are open between 9 am to 7 pm daily, including holidays, with admission costing €8 Monday through Friday, € 10 on weekends. Special pricing is applied for students (€5) and anyone affiliated with a university (with an average ticket discount of 30%). (elif aytemiz)
