June 4 brought good news to Tuscany: there was only one new patient with a COVID-19 infection resulting from 2.205 swabs that were examined in the past 24 hours, in addition to four deaths. People hospitalized–89–represented the first time the figure was reported to be under 100 since almost the beginning of the outbreak in early March; during the same 24-hour time period, 87 people recovered from the disease.
Twenty-four COVID-19 patients are still in intensive care; since March 8, the number of contagions have numbered 10,122 throughout the region, with 8,180 recoveries and 1,059 deaths, and 24 still in intensive care. Another 794, not seriously ill but “asymptomatic,” are in self-quarantine. (rosanna cirigliano)
