A new Italian decree seeks to limit excessive airfare hikes on domestic island flights, prohibiting price increases over 200% during peak periods. The measure is part of the Assets & Investment decree effective as August 7. As the government aims to mitigate the ticket prices that are currently soaring through the roof, any unfair practices such as web user profiling, location-based rates, and algorithms regarding flights to Elba, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Sardinia, and Sicily are banned. This will be in effect at all airports in Tuscany, most importantly Pisa and Peretola. (Milla Elizabeth)
