‘Autumnia’ 2024 Fall Festival Highlights

The Autumnia Festival is an annual fair held in Figline Valdarno, celebrating autumn while highlighting the importance of environmental sustainability, agriculture, and traditional cuisine. Amidst a beautiful autumn atmosphere, attendees can enjoy delicious food and wine, visit an animal farm, watch artisans at work, and purchase handmade items. The 25th edition of the fair will take place from November 8 to November 10 in piazza Marsilio Ficino offering a wide range of attractions and events for adults and children.

On Friday, November 8, the food stands will open at 3 pm and close at 10 pm. Additionally, at 11 am in La Massa Primary School, there will be a tree festival and a 3 pm organized by Municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno (FIV) and the Carabinieri Forest Service. Afterward, visitors can engage in a discussion on climate change and its effects on families and businesses.

The next day, on Saturday, November 9, The day will kicks off with several events, such as Animal Farm Workshops (10 am), Ancient Crafts and Children’s Educational Activities (10 am), and Firefighter Games (10 am). Food stands will open at 10 am and close at 10 pm. A highlight of the day will be a tour of the and beautiful historic Teatro Garibaldi, which dates from 1879.  Requiring prior online booking, this tour is offered at 11 am, 2 and 5 pm.

The last day, Sunday, November 10, is also full of many interesting initiatives, such as Animal Farm, Ancient Crafts, and Firefighter Games, all starting at 10 am. Children can participate in Aromatic Adventures and have a multisensory experience while learning about aromatic herbs From 10:30 am to 4 pm. Additionally, Teatro Garibaldi will present the play called Noah’s Umbrella: A Theatrical Journey at Garibaldi. Reservations for this event will be available from November 4 at the theatre or on the website (www.teatrogaribaldi.org).  Food stands will open at 10 am and close at 8 pm.

Throughout the entire fair, attendees are welcome to visit a photography exhibition on climate change at Palazzo Pretorio or join a cooking show with chefs at Piazza Ficino. The kids will have the opportunity to ride ponies and horses, as well as pet other animals. Everyone can enjoy the Christmas Market, located in piazza Mazzini, featuring crafts in addition to delicious food and beverages.
