Live entertainment and free admission to landmarks in one of Italy’s most iconic cities, what more could you ask for from a summer evening in Tuscany? At 9:30 pm on July 24, Piazza dei Miracoli will be hosting Accordo di Stelle, an annual festival produced by the Opera della Primaziale Pisana in honor of the cathedral’s historic bell tower (aka the Leaning Tower), a tradition started in 2023 to honor the 850th anniversary of  construction.

The event will feature acts by world class musicians and dancers. The performances are completely free with no booking required in advance, seats will be available on a first come first served basis until capacity is reached.

The program will open with the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Giacomo Loprieno. From pop to jazz, Loprieno’s orchestra touts a diverse repertoire. Friday’s performance will be a special celebration of legendary film soundtracks, featuring the music of Italian composers Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, and Nicola Piovani.

Following the concert, will be a dance solo by famous ballet étoile Roberto Bolle of Milan’s Teatro alla Scala. He will be performing Waves, a unique piece choreographed by Massimiliano Volpini, with music by Davide Boosta Dileo and Erik Satie. After, Bolle will be joined on stage by Irish ballerina Melissa Hamilton of London’s Royal Ballet. The two will revive their roles from Caravaggio, once again dancing the elegant choreography of Mauro Bigonzetti to music by Claudio Monteverdi.

The evening will conclude with a performance by one of Italy’s most renowned contemporary pianists and composers, Giovanni Allevi. He has performed for international audiences at Carnegie Hall in New York City, La Scala in Milan, and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. At this year’s Accordo di Stelle Allevi will be playing three signature compositions, Back to Life, Tomorrow, and Our Future

In addition to the concerts, Pisa will be opening Piazza dei Miracoli’s monuments for free to the public from 8:30 to 11:00 pm in the evening.
