The float entitled “Frontiers” dedicated to migrants won the Viareggio Carnival Grand Prize, ahead of “Burocrazy” by Lebigre and Rogers in second place, and “Chinatown Streets” by Roberto Vannucci, a representation of China’s new found authority as the world’s leading superpower, which came in third.
In the smaller float category the winner was “A Love So Great,” (Un amore così grande) created by Jacopo Allegrucci.
The dates for the 2018 Viareggio Carnival were announced: Saturday, January 27 and February 4, 11, 13 and 17. To read more in Italian, visit Florence’s La Repubblica news site.
