A Family Fun Day for Charity in Chianti

AILO representatives at the Mayre Fayre

May 20:  MAY FAYRE.  Charity fair. Villa Casavecchia, via Scopeti 41, San Casciano Val di Pesa.  Open 11 am – 7 pm.  Free admission.

Sundays in Tuscany were meant for drinking a glass of Chianti Classico wine and enjoying the countryside. The American International League of Florence ONLUS (AILO) invites the public to the May Fayre, a family fun day in the peace and tranquility of the Chianti region. The May Fayre is an opportunity to give back while having a good time. The essentials of an Italian summer weekend will be present: pizza, panini, and wine.

There will be a small market featuring clothing, natural skin care products, bags, and handmade accessories. Games, pony rides, face painting, and other activities are sure to keep children active and entertained. A lottery with many prizes will also be a part of the weekend festivities. This AILO event is for the entire family, all overlooking the vineyard and olive farm of the magnificent Villa Casavecchia in the Chianti region closest to Florence.

Established in 1975, AILO is famous for its Christmas Bazaar, an annual event at which the non-profit organization raises money to donate to local charities, including those that aide autistic children, support victims of physical abuse, and promote awareness of mental illness. Proceeds from the May Fayre will further help to fund selected charities around Florence.
