Face Masks No Longer Required Outdoors in Tuscany

Tuscan residents will not have to don face masks outdoors starting on June 28 except at fairs, markets or sports events.  Everyone is still required to carry one with them at all times and continue to wear a mask indoors, except at home.  The Italian Health Ministry highly recommends that people with medical conditions that make them vulnerable to serious health risks if they contract Covid 19 continue to keep masks on whenever they leave the house.

The new regulation will apply to all Italians whether fully vaccinated or not.

June 21 saw just 45 new cases of Covid-19 in Tuscany and no deaths, the first time since October 10, 2020.
